This project is an indoor playground activity room for the Jeddah AGS Girls School in Saudi Arabia. The interior space of the activity room is 350m². The overall layout is fan-shaped, and the indoor usable height reaches 10.9 meters. The curved wall is a whole row of doors and windows, with excellent natural lighting. The school indoor playground design aims to create a physical sports park with a natural fantasy theme. The school activity room implements the physical development laws of children of all ages into the design of the indoor activity room, making the indoor playground more suitable for children’s growth and providing a better experience.
This school indoor activity room adopts the theme of natural fantasy, integrating various forest natural elements and fantasy adventure themes into the entire indoor playground design. And the appearance design of the indoor playground equipment, creating a relaxing, pleasant, natural and immersive play experience for children. This indoor playground activity room design is mainly divided into five areas, including the main play area, traffic simulation area, role-playing area, leisure and puzzle area, and animal theme large building block area.
The Main Indoor Playground Area
The main indoor playground area is divided into three themes: Dream Castle, Forest Hut and Elephant Play. The three main themes are designed with details and the difficulty of playing to suit children of different ages. The main body of the wooden play house is equipped with soft play materials and rock climbing, drilling holes, slides and various soft play obstacle games, and the walls are equipped with educational wall games with different ways of playing.
Mini City Traffic Simulation Area:
The riding road in the traffic simulation area surrounds the main indoor playground area and naturally connects the various game areas. It is also equipped with: parking area, traffic control area, gas station, and corresponding traffic signs at intersections and sidewalks.
Role Playing Area：
There are two role play houses in the role playing area: Children’s Home and Hospital. The interior is decorated with small role playing products with corresponding themes. The small room on the side is the fire station, which has an information reception desk where the little firefighters work. There is an operational fire truck parked outside the fire station.
Leisure and educational area
The leisure and educational area allows children to calm down and sit at the game table to play. The walls are also equipped with educational games with different ways of playing. Here, children’s hand-eye coordination ability and finger fine motor ability can be fully exercised. Let the children’s intelligence and imagination be developed.
