Project Introduction:
This indoor playground kids play cafe is located in Chicago, USA. The entire playground area is 380m², with a widely open indoor space and good natural lighting. The client hopes to build a forest-themed physical exercise type indoor play center. The designer curates this indoor playground layout to align with the unique activity needs of children across various age groups, making the entire indoor playground more suitable for children’s growth and providing a better playing experience.
Design concept:
This kids play cafe indoor playground incorporates various forest-style natural elements into the design, creating a relaxing and pleasant indoor play space for children. According to the age of children and the principle of combining movement and stillness, our designer has meticulously divided the indoor playground into six unique zones: traffic simulation area, trampoline zone, mini city role play area, soft planting adventure zone, leisure and puzzle corner, and a sensory integration area designed for younger children.
Function Partition:
>>The main playground area
The main playground area is made of wood & PU materials, natural look but comfortable.
The main body of the wooden play house is equipped with soft cushions and rock climbing, drilling holes, drilling nets, slides and various soft obstacle games. The walls are equipped with different types of educational wall games, like science, sensory,math… This wooden play house has a simple and elegant shape, decorated with leaves and birds, and with yellow, green and white colors, it looks fresh and natural.
>>Trampoline zone
The trampoline area has three distinct trampoline units , suitable for multiple children to play on at the same time. When the child jumps up from the trampoline, he can hit the touch points on the wall to record the time. The surrounding walls are decorated with tree-shaped soft padding, not only to protect children, but also echo the natural theme.
>>Traffic simulation area
The riding road in the traffic simulation area surrounds the main playground equipment, naturally connecting the various game areas. It is also equipped with: parking areas, gas stations, and cartoon vehicles for children to ride.Creates a fun mini city environment for children to explore and play
>>Soft planting adventure zone
The soft planting adventure zone allows children to experience the fun of picking in nature. The hill-shaped drilling slide, mushrooms, birds, trees, and grass make this a natural paradise for children.
>>Leisure and puzzle corner
Within the leisure and puzzle corner, children can unwind by sitting at the game table for play. The walls host diverse puzzle games with varying functions. This play space nurtures children’s hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, fostering the development of their intelligence and imagination.Creating a edutainment paradise for children to play.
>>Sensory integration area
The sensory integration area for young children is made up of soft toys. with padded walls and floors ensuring the utmost safety for the children. Featuring high and low platforms, crawl-through holes, miniature slides, and tactile balls, this space aids in honing children’s gross motor skills and balance capabilities.
