I. Project Overview
Jitterbug-Eliisa Bryce Play Cafe, located in Michigan, USA, is a high-quality family-friendly cafe and play space catering to children aged 0-6. As the overall playground solution provider for this project, Cowboy Group was deeply involved throughout the entire process, from initial concept planning to final delivery, leveraging our professional one-stop service capabilities to help the brand achieve a perfect balance between commercial value and children’s developmental play needs within a limited space with customized play cafe equipment.
The indoor playground design is themed around “Natural Magic,” using soft light green, light blue, off-white, and warm yellow as the main color scheme, accented with low-saturation orange and brown. The clean and gentle colors avoid the glare of high-saturation colors while creating a dreamy and healing fairytale atmosphere, perfectly matching the aesthetic preferences of young children.
II. Design Concept
With 23 years of experience in designing and building children’s playground equipment, Cowboy tailored a customized playground system for Jitterbug, balancing “fairytale storytelling” with “professional physical training.” The project, centered on a “retro-funny town,” is a child-friendly play cafe design that integrates role-playing, physical exercise, and parent-child interactive play equipment. Its warm and soothing style, along with clear functional divisions, makes the space not only a dream playground for children but also a warm social space where parents are willing to linger and make repeat purchases.
III. Area Division and Functions
1.Customized Wooden Structure
Considering the children’s play needs, we specially designed the “Jitterbug” customized wooden house, featuring a sensory integration training room—a suspended balance beam, hanging rings, and a suspended balance walkway—to develop children’s core and motor coordination and improve concentration. An external rotating slide provides children with a unique sliding experience. The entire play structure uses a fully soft-padded, impact-resistant design, suitable for the safe activities of young children.
2.Role-Playing
Cowboy created a bespoke simulated street system for Jitterbug, featuring zebra crossings and lanes painted on the ground, paired with retro arched doorways, connecting various themed spaces such as a gas station, fire station, supermarket checkout, and ice cream shop. Children can act as little firefighters at the gas station while learning about fire prevention; experience the joy of social interaction among peers while shopping in the supermarket; and become pastry chefs in the ice cream shop.
3.Rest and Reading Area
Next to the role-playing area, we set up a waiting and rest area for parents, with long, soft-padded seats and colorful square stools for accompanying parents to rest. Storage compartments underneath can store toys, shoes, and socks, combining storage and waiting functions. In addition, to meet children’s reading needs, a dedicated reading room was created for children to enjoy quiet reading.
