I. Project Overview: A "Growth Town" Tailor-Made for Toddlers
Located in Florida, USA, this project is a high-end childcare activity room for infants and toddlers aged 0-6. Based on a deep understanding of children’s behavioral psychology and safety needs, Cowboy Group used a low-saturation macaron color scheme (primarily off-white, light green, and warm yellow, accented with bright orange and light blue) to blend a natural forest theme with a fairytale town style. Within the 37㎡ space, a multifunctional layout was achieved, separating active and quiet areas, catering to all ages, and integrating education and play.
The overall space features rounded edges without sharp corners, creating a soft and comfortable visual experience that satisfies aesthetic expression while also meeting the stringent safety and practicality requirements of a childcare setting.
II. Custom Playground Design Concept
With the core theme of a “Forest-Style Fairy Tale Town,” the Cowboy design team organically combines soft macaron colors with the natural texture of wood, minimizing the excessive interference of highly stimulating colors on young children’s emotions. All shapes and forms feature rounded corners, from the slide entrance to the platform edge, from the doorway to the railing corner, with no sharp edges. Elements such as clouds, treehouses, and castles are naturally integrated into the spatial structure, allowing children to explore spontaneously within a familiar fairy tale context.
III. Cowboy Group's Customized Playground Design and Equipment Solutions
1. Multi-Level Active Play Area
Wooden playground structure: spiral slide + straight slide + climbing tunnel + openwork mesh platform, with a matching soft-padded circular cushioned platform.
Older children can develop their coordination, courage, and spatial awareness through climbing and sliding; the soft-padded platform simultaneously provides supervision, rest, and safety cushioning, reducing operational risks.
2. Immersive Role-Playing Town
Miniature street scenes connect themed cabins such as a fire station, police station, ice cream shop, market, and hospital, complete with interactive educational toys like cartoon fire truck carts, simulated shopping carts, food props, and a “burning house.”
Children naturally learn social rules, career awareness, and collaborative expression through “buying and selling games” and “role-playing simulations.” Serving as a transition zone for physical activities, it helps children recover their energy and increase their playtime.
3. Educational Creativity Area
Dual-function wall playboard: the left side features a ball-operated track wall, and the right side is a large-block interlocking wall.
Providing a focused space for children who need quiet activities, effectively separating active and quiet children, improving overall order, and strengthening hand-eye coordination and logical thinking. The modular indoor playground design allows for easy changes to play later.
4. Infant Soft-Padded Area (0-2 Year Olds)
Fully soft-padded floor, curved guardrails, soft stools, low round platform, small cartoon playhouse, and seating for parental caregivers.
Infants can freely crawl and learn to walk in their designated safe area, allowing parents close supervision. Soft ramps allow children to gradually access older activity areas under supervision, extending their stay and enhancing the added value of childcare services.
